Description:
Sublative Resurfacing rejuvenation therapy is a unique procedure which uses radio frequency to deliver an effective but controlled ablative (visible wound) and non-ablative (not visible wound) flow of energy that is transmitted to the middle part of the skin exciting the cells that make collagen.
Sublative resurfacing is to treat wrinkles, scars, large pores stretchmarks and better texture of the skin. Like “Fraxel” it uses radiofrequency (electrical) energy, as opposed to laser. Each pulse delivers the radio frequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury which is maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. Fibroblasts activated within the “zones” signal collagen to regenerate and remodel, yielding improved skin tone and texture overall. Meanwhile, the surrounding “untreated” tissue then helps to support and accelerate the healing process in the skin.
The technology allows shorter duration of downtime for modern day resurfacing.
How long Does it Last?
Patients can expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and acne and other scarring. In addition, patients will see an improvement in texture and skin laxity. On average, most results appear over a period of three to six months (it takes time for collagen to grow), but some patients notice results immediately after treatment.
Usually a series of three treatments are needed for optimal results and combined collagen production for longer, lasting results.
What does it treat?
Patients looking to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, scarring/acne scarring, stretchmarks with minimal downtime are good candidates for this procedure.
What to expect in my treatment?
You will have topical numbing applied prior to treatment. Many experience a feeling of heat in the treated area.
What is the downtime?
You will experience heat immediately after treatment that typically dissipates within first 24 hours. Slight swelling may occur immediately post and should subside in 48 hours. Redness is most prominent in first 24 hours then proceeds to dissipate over next few days. Tiny, dry grid marks develop and are present for about 5-14 days, but these are easy to camouflage with makeup or even without it after the first one to two days.
Is there anything to avoid pre treatment?
For one week prior, discontinue retinol, and avoid direct sun exposure.
Post Treatment Care:
A post procedure product kit will be recommended to help with the healing process. Avoid makeup for 24 hrs.
How often Do you recommend?
We recommend a series of three to have optimal results. They can be performed one month a part of each other. We recommend a yearly assessment to determine repeating another session to continue the collagen production and desired results.
What results can I expect?
Improvement on the treated area that could include: fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, scarring/acne scarring, and stretchmarks.
