What is PRP?
PRP is your Platelet-Rich Plasma, which is your healing agent in your body. It houses your growth factors which also hold your stem cells. Essentially, injecting PRP back into the area promotes our body’s healing system to improve the area and regenerate lost tissue or hair follicles.
What is PRP used for?
In aesthetics, we use PRP for anti-aging and hair restoration.
How is PRP used for Hair Restoration?
For hair restoration, we inject the platelet-rich plasma into your scalp to stimulate reparative cells through the use of growth factors. Once the PRP is injected in your scalp, the growth factors start promoting the formation of collagen, ultimately leading to regrowth in the hair follicles.
How does it work?
We use the PureSpin PRP®, FDA Cleared, #1 ranked centrifuge system for safe and rapid preparation of platelets from a small sample of the patient’s blood at the specific area of treatment. This will spin down your platelets twice to give you the purest form of PRP. We then take that PRP and we inject or microneedle them back into the patient’s point of care.
Who is the best candidate for PRP Hair Restoration?
“Someone who has been thinning within the last 5 years. The growth factors stimulate the stem cells to house the follicle of the hair, where it is going to keep it healthy, thicker, fuller, and have the properties of growing,” — Anna Morris, Injection Specialist
What to expect during my treatment?
We numb the area, so it’s very comfortable for our patients. The treatment time for PRP is around 45 minutes. Typically, we will perform the treatment once a month for 3 months, and then we will see you 3 months later for a follow up to check your progress. From there, we will evaluate if you need further treatment.
What to expect post-treatment?
You can expect a slight bit of swelling post-treatment. It’s important to keep the area clean. You can wash or shampoo the area as you normally would. We recommend our Advanced Hair Regrowth Kit by Adriane Advanced Skincare.
