What is Acne Laser Treatment?

It also helps to shrink the sebaceous gland which contributes to oil production in the skin.
How long do the results last?
Results from our acne laser treatment are generally long lasting. To maintain results, however, patients often need follow-up treatments once or twice a year.
What does it treat?
Helps to reduce the appearance of acne as it aims to treat the root cause of the problem by targeting the bacteria with heat from different wavelengths helping with flare ups and infection. The laser also helps to shrink the substation glad which will help to reduce oils in the skin.
What to expect during my treatment?
During your appointment, one of our certified and experienced providers will cleanse your skin before applying the laser directly to the acne-affected areas. You may feel a slight warming sensation as the laser works to target the oil glands. Slight redness is expected post treatment. Very little to no downtime is expected during this treatment.
Is there anything to avoid pretreatment?
You will need to avoid using any skin sensitizing products such as retinol, discontinue the use of self tanners 2 weeks before treatment, the use of antibiotics for 5 days before your treatment, and/ or the use of accutane in the past 6 months.
What is the downtime?
Very little to no downtime is expected during this treatment. Slight redness is expected post treatment.
What are the post treatment care instructions?
There are a few things you will need to avoid post an acne laser treatment: Avoid hot tubs, saunas, excessive working out and adding any excess heat to the treatment area for 24 hours.
How often do you recommend treatment?
This treatment is recommended in a series of 8 done twice a week. The results from our acne laser treatment are generally long lasting. To maintain results, however, patients often need follow-up treatments once or twice a year.
